First day in Rome ...

It is my first day in Rome living with Camilla, Federico, Ludovica, Anna and Pietro. I have not met the children yet. I arrived late last night and they were sleeping. When I woke up they were all in school. I am going with Camilla to pick them up from school soon. Camilla does not work. She goes out in the morning to run errands and that is all. Camilla and Federico are very nice. I like them a lot. Good thing because I was really nervous! Federico speaks perfect English and works for BP. Camilla speaks English pretty well.

I have a small, but very sweet room right off the kitchen with my own bathroom, which is a relief. The espresso machine ... It is the best thing ever. You insert a perfect sized container of espresso, pull a lever ... and voila ... it pours the coffee right into your cup.

The apartment is beautiful. Its very small, but has marble and wood floors and crystal chandeliers in every room. It's furnished with beautiful Italian antiques and art. She has beautiful pieces of art on the
walls. It's very traditional. She likes to garden and has yellow roses out. Beautiful persian rugs.

Today for lunch Camilla made pasta carbonara, a famous rome recipe, she said. It's fried ham cubes, egg, pasta and parmasean all mixed together. All for now. I will write again soon!
