Here I am in London ... I am completely exhausted. So much so that I am starting to get irrationally emotional. I really haven't slept in 30 hours or so. I still have about four hours left to play in London, but I'm ready to go. It's too cold here. I can barely stand it. Guess I am a true Floridian.
I landed at Gatwick this morning and took the train into London. It was a 30 minute ride and I was able to see some of the countryside. Not exactly nice country though. Lots of rundown homes on top of one another. Not at all what I think of when I think of English country. Then I purchased a bus tour ticket. That was a mistake, I think. I expected a heated bus with a lively tour guide and got just the opposite. My feet were so cold and I was wearing shearling boots. I thought this was supposed to be warm. I would have been better to be outside moving around than sitting in a cold bus.
So, guess what I found? A warm starbucks and my feet are beginning to defrost. I'd like to find a good Indian restaurant to eat. I have heard that Indian food is more popular than fish and chips these days in London. Mmmmmm, Indian food.
To be perfectly honest, I'm not that impressed with London. It might be that I am too tired to enjoy the city at this point. The architecture is beautiful the city is ver clean, but cold, oh so cold. And the local people are kinda rude. Don't stop and ask for directions. They'll be really put out. Bah hum bug! It must be the weather. I'll be happy to be in Rome. The Italians are much friendlier that this.
